Supporting Documents Required

The originals and one photocopy of the following documents must be submitted:
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Marriage Certificate (where applicable).
  • Legal Affidavit or Deed Poll if present name is different from that on the Birth Certificate
  • Academic Certificates (GCE, CXC (CAPE), CXC (CSEC)).
  • GCE/CXC (CSEC/CAPE) Grade Slips (Accepted only in cases where certificates are not yet available)
  • Professional Certificates/Diplomas.
  • Official transcripts sent directly from granting institution to:
    Assistant Registrar(Admissions),
    Distance Education Registry,
    2nd Floor Main Administration Building,
    University of the West Indies,
    St. Augustine, Trinidad
  • Autobiographical Statement (200 words) (Applicable only to candidates applying to the Faculty of Medical Sciences)
  • TOEFL Examination Score (Applicable only to candidates whose native language is not English). A TOEFL Score of 500 or greater is preferred.
Print and sign the confirmation receipt. Attach(glue) a passport sized photograph to the confirmation receipt. Bring the confirmation receipt with supporting documents. Applicants MUST submit all required supporting documents

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for the Undergraduate Degree Programmes who do not possess a Grade 1 CXC or CSEC English, a Grade A in GCE O’Level English, a Grade 1 in CAPE Communications Studies or a Grade A or B in the GCE General Paper, are required to take the ELPT Test. The ELPT Test will be conducted on the campuses and the UWI Centres in your country.

Applicants are required to pay a small fee to cover the cost of the test. There is no fee for Trinidad applicants writing for the first time, however for repeaters there is a TT$50.00 fee to be paid at Campus House UWI, St. Augustine.

The test will be held on August 21st 2008, October 16th 2008, December 15th and February 12th 2009.
