Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management
This continuing and professional education (CPE) programme in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management is comprised of 90 contact hours which are geared towards equipping individuals with the foundation knowledge, skills and competencies required to become a business owner or an entrepreneur. The programme seeks to provide theoretical as well as practical knowledge so that individuals have the best chance of success.
Who is this programme for?
The target group is anyone who has an interest in becoming a business owner/entrepreneur or a person who has already started a business but wishes to add to their skill set. Persons who have a genuine interest in starting their own business or in small business management and entrepreneurship are also invited to apply.
The programme consists of three courses. These may be taken together for the completion of the Certificate or participants may be permitted to complete any course for the award of the Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

- Effective Management and Leadership
- Financial Planning for Small Business

There are no defined prerequisites to enter the programme. However, participants should have a genuine interest in the subject matter. It is anticipated that all students will have good written and verbal communication skills. A model of continuous in-course assessment will be applied to all courses within this programme. Students will be assessed at different intervals over the duration of each course which may include written examinations. Assignments may also include but are not limited to: case-based activities, practical assignments, presentations and other projects.
